Matheus Nunes, midfielder for Manchester City, has been arrested in Madrid on suspicion of stealing a mobile phone at a nightclub.
The 26-year-old Portuguese international was reportedly taken into custody around 5:30 a.m. on September 8 at La Riviera, a well-known disco.
According to Dailymail reports, he is accused of snatching the phone from a 58-year-old man who attempted to photograph him without permission in the restroom.
Witnesses claim Nunes acted out of anger and refused to return the device.
Spanish daily El Mundo reported that police were summoned to the scene and discovered the phone in Nunes’s possession, leading to his arrest.
