In a recent operation led by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command Anti-Kidnapping Unit, six individuals suspected of involvement in kidnapping activities were arrested at a hotel in Bassa Village, FCT.
The arrested suspects include Buhari Muhammad (20), a notable figure in kidnapping circles, Muhammad Sabiu (20), Isah Abdullahi, Hamzat Musa (21), Fatima Abdullahi (22), and Zuliat Yusuf (23).
The apprehension marks a significant stride in the ongoing battle against crime within the FCT region. The captured syndicate stands accused of orchestrating the abduction of Joshua Eze, husband to Blessing Eze. During the abduction, Blessing Eze sustained a gunshot wound but was later rescued unharmed by diligent police operatives on January 28th.
According to statements released by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, a cache of items including an AK47 rifle, 10 mobile phones, a sum of three hundred and forty-five thousand naira, and various other valuables were seized from the suspects. The suspects have reportedly confessed to their involvement in this crime as well as other kidnapping incidents within the Territory.
As investigations continue, FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth Igweh, has reaffirmed his commitment to eradicating criminal activities in the FCT. He encourages residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
