In a pivotal move, President Bola Tinubu and State Governors have paved the way for the establishment of state police, as disclosed by Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation.
Following a high-level meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the President and Governors have formed a committee to delve deeper into the state police initiative, crafting essential modalities for its realization.
Additionally, the gathering addressed pressing concerns surrounding national security and food scarcity, marking significant decisions that resonate with the nation’s welfare.
Particularly noteworthy was the collective decision to suspend the federal government’s plan for food importation, underscoring a shift towards bolstering domestic production and distribution channels.
Moving forward, ongoing dialogue and collaboration between stakeholders, including the National Security Adviser and pertinent agencies, aim to combat food hoarding and ensure equitable access to essential supplies across the nation.
