In a breaking development, Victor Osimhen, the star striker of the Super Eagles, has been given the green light by the team’s medical staff for the upcoming semi-final clash against South Africa.
Reportedly, Osimhen was unable to join the team’s journey from Abidjan to Bouaké on Monday evening due to abdominal discomfort.
Confirming the incident, the team’s media officer, Babafemi Raji, stated that Osimhen had been placed under close observation by the team doctors, with one medical staff member remaining in Abidjan to monitor his condition.
Sources in Abidjan have indicated that Osimhen will rejoin his teammates in Bouaké after being declared fit and is expected to participate in the crucial game.
Throughout the AFCON tournament in Côte d’Ivoire, the Napoli striker has played a pivotal role for the Eagles, starting in all five matches and contributing one goal, while also assisting Ademola Lookman in the victory against Cameroon.
