The forum of 2011/2012 pensioners in Osun State has appealed to the state government to uphold the recent favorable judgment of the Appeal Court.

Expressing their expectations, the forum urges Governor Ademola Adeleke to direct the computation of their entitlements based on the 18,000 naira minimum wage scheme.

Chairman of the forum, Comrade Ilesanmi Omoniyi, expressed confidence in Governor Adeleke’s leadership while cautioning against the influence of detractors.

He attributed the forum’s predicament to the administration of former Governor Rauf Aregbesola, whose policies led to the legal battle now resolved by the appellate court.

Omoniyi criticized the previous administration for calculating their entitlements using a 9,000 naira minimum wage arrangement, prompting their recourse to the industrial court.

Comrade Yemi Lawal hailed the Appeal Court’s judgment as divine intervention and urged the government to exhibit responsiveness and generosity in addressing their plea.

At a general meeting held at the headquarters of the National Union of Pensioners, members revealed internal dissent within the NUP regarding their case in the industrial court and Appeal Court in Akure, Ondo state.

They pledged to safeguard their interests independently, rather than relying on the State chapter of the NUP to advance their cause.

Despite their optimism about the industrial Court’s verdict, the pensioners appeal to Governor Ademola Adeleke, a beneficiary of justice, to ensure their gratuities and pensions align with the 18,000 minimum wage scheme.
