As the countdown for the anticipated 3rd National Advertising Conference begins, expectations are high as the conference will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of marketing communications in Nigeria.
The conference which will take place at the prestigious International Conference Centre in Abuja between December 6 and 8 2023 is expected to parade some of the industry’s best brains.
At a press briefing organised by the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria and held at Leola hotel, Maryland on the 2nd of October 2023, it was stated that this year’s event will be a landmark gathering, focusing on the theme “Marketing Communications As An Enabler For National Transformation.”
The choice of theme, according to the statement reflects efforts of the Tunji Adeyinka-led organizing committee, comprised of influential stakeholders from various sectors of Nigeria’s advertising industry.
It was also made known that this year’s conference will address the needs of the current economy, advocating for positive change in the branding and business objectives of clients while providing a much-needed boost to the nation’s economy.
The conference will feature a Fireside Chat, bringing together three industry titans for insightful discussions. This engaging session will be hosted at the Johnwood Hotel in Abuja.
Second day of the conference will commence with the official opening ceremony, followed by an economic session focused on the GDP Multiplier campaign and will culminate with the Brand Nigeria Session at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.
The statement added that there will be four breakout sessions targeting professionals and academia alike. “One of these sessions will interact with students in a “town meeting meets gown” setting. The day’s agenda will conclude with a Town Hall meeting with ARCON, leading into an Industry Dinner and the Advertising Standards Panel (ASP) Compliance Awards.”
With a keen focus on ensuring that this event is both enlightening and beneficial to practitioners and the economy, ARCON has inaugurated two committees:
The Brand Nigeria Committee, led by the President of the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN), Steve Babaeko. This committee will be instrumental in shaping discussions related to how marketing communications can position Nigeria’s brand on the global stage.
While the GDP Multiplier Committee, chaired by Femi Adelusi, the current President of the Media Independent Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MIPAN) will delve into strategies for harnessing the power of advertising to stimulate economic growth and development.
